Winners Assembly Writing Competition

Last Friday afternoon Mr Holland returned to the school to host the Writing Competition Winners’ Presentation Assembly.

This yar we had 51 entries from across KS1 and KS2. The standard of creative writing entered was staggering! “Wow!” as Mr Holland put it on his slide! The thought, time, effort and imagination that went into penning each entry was outstanding. The writing stimulus ‘Another Time, Another Place,’ really brough out the best in our writers.

All of the children that entered earned a prize of at least one book, with our Year Group and overall winners earning multiple books for their effort. All prizes were sponsored by the publishing firm that Mr Holland works for Fashore, an arm of the children’s division for Harper Collins.

This has been a terrific partnership event and one we hope to continue. We now look ahead to next years’ Creative Writing Competition to be launched by Mr Holland on Monday 8th February 2027. I really hope we top the ’51’ entries we had this year!

I have also told the children that I will not know next years’ theme until they do! The countdown is on!

Congratulations to all of the children who received Head Teacher Certificates today. These were awarded for Outstanding Behaviour and Attitude to Learning, as well as Being Excellent Lunchtime RoleModels. These children all receive the maximum twenty house points from me.

Congratulations to Green House As a result of winning the Half – Term House Points Championship, children in Green House will be allowed to come to school on Friday 5th June completely dressed in Green , partially in Green or wearing a Green accessory. Children in Green House will also have their celebratory additional afternoon break on Friday 5th June .

The results were as follows:

1. Green

2. Joint 2nd Blue and Yellow

3. Red

Raglan Primary School teachers and staff battle it out on the football pitch against parents and carers for the second Charity Shield match at Bromley Rugby and Football Club. Well done to Raglan for the magnificent second half winning goal! We look forward to our third outing next year.
