PE & Sport at Raglan
The government has provided an additional funding to improve the provision of physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools. This funding – provided jointly by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport – has been allocated to primary school Headteachers.
This funding is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on provision of PE and sport in schools. All children will benefit directly from the funding.
The documents explain how the funding has been spent at Raglan Primary School. Our main aim has been to ensure that the children at Raglan receive as much specialist coaching as possible, as well as teachers receiving training and experience to enable them to teach even higher quality PE lessons.
There will be progression in coaching units and an assessment system implemented to ensure children are making excellent progress as a result of the funding.
Children will start swimming lessons in the Spring and information will be updated at that time.
