Welcome to Raglan Nursery (Bromley Kent)

Raglan Nursery is set within Raglan Primary School and operates during term times only. It is a colourful, vibrant environment where young children can learn through structured play activities. In addition, we are able to make use of a variety of school facilities including the playground for our bikes and trikes, the library for story times and enjoying books, the gym for dance and games as well as the lower hall for drama and some assemblies.

We have created a Social Story to share with your child to help them to prepare to start Nursery.  Please see below:

Parents can choose from 5 morning sessions or 5 afternoon sessions or 5 full days.  You may also book for a combination of funded and non-funded sessions depending on availability. All funded or paid sessions must be booked and paid for in advance. All sessions have a four week notice period.

We offer 30 hours of funded provision for eligible parents: to find out if you are eligible for 30 hours free child care please visit: www.childcarechoices.gov.uk.   Funded sessions are 9-12 and 1-4.

All sessions have a four week notice period.

Children entitled to the 15hr free funding can spread their funding across the week through attending nursery each morning or each afternoon.  This would mean the 15hrs is spread across 5 daily sessions between either (9-12) or (1-4). Funding starts the term following the child’s 3rd birthday  (January, April or September). For example, if your child’s birthday is in February funding will start in April.

Children entitled to 30hrs free funding can attend nursery each morning (9-12) and each afternoon (1-4) and pay the additional £6.75 for lunch care plus the cost of a school dinner or alternatively bring in a packed lunch.  Early morning sessions may be paid for at a cost of £5 per session.

Below are the details of the session times and prices.

Parents are also able to pay for nursery fees/lunches with childcare vouchers-  this is not to be confused with the Government 15/30 hour funding.  However, when paying with childcare vouchers, you will need to provide the office with the exact date the voucher was processed, the payment amount and your reference number as childcare voucher providers do not notify the school directly with this information.

We have spaces for 24 children at each session. We do operate a waiting list.

Uniform

Children are not expected to wear school uniform. We do ask that children come in comfortable appropriate clothing. These should be easy for the children to put on/pull up etc. to develop their independence skills. They will need to bring in a small bag with spare clothing into nursery to hang on their peg.   All items including bags need to be clearly named, to enable the lost items to be returned to you.

If your child is still in nappies or pull ups please supply a change of nappies and wipes or creams that they would normally use in their bag.

Your child will be experimenting with many messy activities. We are happy to change any wet or messy clothes if you have provided a supply. It is also a good idea to have a spare pair of shoes in your child’s bag if possible. Please ensure these are named and supplied in a bag which will be kept on your child’s peg. If your child has pierced ears they must only wear gold stud earrings, please ensure ALL clothes including shoes are named.

General Information

The nursery doors open at 9.00am for the morning session. Parents drop their children at the Nursery gates where they say Goodbye. We do offer early morning and extended day sessions.

Some children go home at 12pm and the afternoon children come into nursery at 1pm.

Parents are able to enter through the Jaffray Road entrance. There is a camera system on the gate and once the buzzer is pressed, we are able to see who is at the gate and release the gate from the nursery. The parents will then bring their children across the KS1 playground to the door and say goodbye here. Mobile phones are not permitted whilst parents are on the school site. This is to safeguard the children.

At the end of the children’s session parents will enter through the Jaffray Road gate, either through the buzzer gate or open gate at the end of the day and parents are asked to wait in the nursery playground and the children will be brought out to you. All gates that parents or carers open to enter, need to be closed behind them as we operate different timetables, like school playtimes or afterschool clubs in the playground.

Please be punctual when arriving and collecting your child. If possible please telephone the Nursery to inform them if you are going to be late. In cases of late collection, we reserve the right to charge £5 for every 5 minutes you are late.

We look forward to welcoming your child into the Nursery setting. We are confident that your child will settle in well and are looking forward to a fun and fulfilling year.

Thank you for your support
