On Wednesday our Year 6 Agent for Change leaders led a terrific assembly promoting and highlighting gender equality – one of the protected characteristics.
The children presented a combination of information and film to communicate their very stark and powerful messages. The children were very surprised to hear that in the UK there is still such disparity between pay for men and women, and that women struggle to have the same opportunities as men in many workplaces and professions.
I thought this was incredibly thought provoking and all credit to our Agents for taking on such an important area. It is always impressive to see our children finding their voice and being able to present to the whole school confidently. A massive congratulations to them.
We are also now recruiting Year 5s to become next years’ Agents for Change. We will be opening up the program to the Year 4 children (who will be in Year 5) in the autumn.
