Last Saturday the second Raglan Charity Shield was played at Bromley Rugby and Football club. The event was incredibly well supported by our families.
In what turned out to be a spirited and competitive match; the staff prevailed 1 – 0 thanks to a wonderfully taken free-kick by one of our Teaching Assistants. The weather was wonderful, the build up to the game tremendous and the quality of football on display was of high standard. It was a wonderful turnout from families right across the school, as well as families that no longer have children in
the school.
The funds raised from the event look to surpass that of last year, and will go into the pot to build a permanent shelter over the ARP outdoor learning area, as well as support further resourcing of the schools’ football and PE programs.
I would like to say a massive thanks to the local businesses who sponsored the even through the program advertising. A huge thanks to Bromley Football and Rugby Club for hosting the event. Thank you to our match day referee. An enormous thanks to the parents and staff that played and managed the teams, as well as the staff that volunteered to help out on the day. A massive thank you to the families and staff that came and supported the event. A big shout out to Petts Wood Football Club for using their kits.
In addition to that an absolutely huge, huge thanks to Mr Diamond, Mr Woods and Mr Sykes for driving the event, generating the sponsorship and organisation of it all. Without their energy, enthusiasm and commitment this just would not happen, and be the success it is.
We now look ahead to the third Raglan Charity Shield. The countdown is on. Thank you all again for your massive support with this. This was another wonderful Raglan community day.
