On Wednesday Miss Jacobs relaunched our Trust ‘I Can Do It’ Award. This is a primary version – and our Trust take on – the Duke of Ed Award that many of our ex-pupils undertake at their secondary schools.
Miss Jacobs also spoke to the children about how completing the activities that lead to gaining the award help develop our mindfulness and further strengthen our Raglan Character Virtues: Kind Ready Safe Confident Independent Resilient.
Miss Jacobs discussed with the children how taking on new challenges helps build brain power because it is essentially new learning. She talked about how trying and failing builds resilience; which helps us succeed!
You can find the information about the Award on our website. Please access this through the following link: I Can Do it Award – Raglan Primary School
The children will earn badges and certificates for the completion of each stage of the award. Every child that completes their years’ worth of activities and submits their evidence book will also earn an extended afternoon break in the Summer term (supervised by me.) We do hope that as many children from across the school participate in the Award.
